Matting Information

If a comb can’t move through your pet’s coat freely and gets stuck, it indicates matting. Matting can obscure underlying issues such as sores, skin irritation, or rashes. These problems may only become apparent after the matting is removed. After removing mats, your pet’s skin might appear irritated or red. This is a normal reaction as the skin adjusts and should not be mistaken for intentional harm. To prevent exacerbating any irritation, keep your pet from licking or scratching the affected areas.
